Scion Unveils a Plethora of Aftermarket Models at 2011 SEMA Show

We'll start with the least extravagant model to be shown off, which is the Gruppe S tC. The California-based auto-tuning group reworked the Scion coupe with a number of aftermarket parts to give it a rally car feel, imbuing it with WRX-like gold wheels, a raised rear wing, and various racing graphics over its white and gold paint job. Like we said, this is the LEAST extravagant vehicle of the show.
Next up is a snowboarder's dream car. Spin Imagine and 686 snowboard apparel worked in conjunction with Scion Racing to create a variant of the xB that not only has the features a snowboarder wants, but also the looks to back it all up. The vehicle features heated floor mats that should get any left over ice and snow out of a rider's bindings after a day on the mountain, while everything from the seats to the aqua blue and yellow exterior paint job have been inspired by snowboarding apparel like jackets, helmets, and bindings.
Then, there are the iQ minicar variants. As we said, there are four to be exact, and they continue to ramp up the factor in fun and interesting ways.
First, there is the Scion iQ RS. It features enough aftermarket parts to make it look like a small spacecraft rather than a minicar, though we're sure they were more going for the performance-driven sports car look. One thing, however, that remains clear is that this is one minicar that simply refuses to abide by the conventions of its class, and it looks like it would be quite fun to drive. Can other minicar manufacturers say that?
Continuing the trend of overloaded minicars is the iQ RX, which was designed by Jon Sibal. It features more gadgets that a person who isn't behind the wheel would know what to do with. More specifically, it brings distracted driving to a whole new level with an in-dash iPad and an Xbox 360 and 32" Samsung 3D LED TV in the trunk, and enough speakers to ensure that both can be hard blocks away.
The Scion iQ-MR, which is designed by Tatsu, sheds some of the aftermarket weight in favor of paying tribute to a classic model of yesteryear, the DeLorean DMC-12. It features the same stainless steel exterior, while also adding some of its own unique flare like floral wheels. No word yet on whether or not it can travel through time though.
Last and FAR from least is the Cartel Scion iQ. The minds at Cartel saw the iQ as less of a minicar and more of a service station on wheels, as they fitted it with everything a true pit boss would need to service a vehicle on the go. They removed the roof and rear seats, fitting the vehicle with two full-size tires, while fitting a tool box into the rear bumper. This iQ variant easily wins the award for creativity and utility in our book.
